If OP is in the US, those eggs have been cleaned and pasteurized, so no booty juice mixing in the water. This is actually really smart.

The eggs will cook in 9 minutes, carrots about the same if not a little longer. The potatoes will take maybe 30. This is not a good plan.

I do this with eggs and pasta when I’m drunk and craving eggs and pasta.

That’s basically breakfast for my dog. Thanks for the idea OP!

If you’re going to do this, you should cut the potatoes in smaller pieces.

This is literally how my parents cooked food

If you added them when the potatoes have been boiling for 21 minutes you could have a hot meal alltogether

1/2 teaspoon baking soda and 1 tablespoon salt for boiling eggs, remove them after 13 minutes and put in an ice bath. This is not the same for mile high locations like Colorado. I don’t recommend boiling the vegetables in the same water.

If the veg were all whole, AND you were planning on peeling them, I guess it’d be alright. Considering that the sweet potato is already cut in half, that’s really inadvisable. Eggs *can* have unclean residues which will seep into the potato.
Bloodless-Cut
Okay, but the potato will be mushy while the carrot is still only half cooked.

Honestly I do this when I’m making ramen and want a soft boiled egg with it. Just put the egg into the water first, set timer for 7-8 mins and put the noodles in when you have 3-4 minutes left on the timer🤷🏻♀️ if I want veggies I take them from the freezer & just add them just before or with the noodles and add an extra minute or so to account for the frozen veggies taking down the water temp.

Honestly that sounds like a damn good idea if you ask me.

I wonder if the eggs will turn orange
Floppycakes
That’s sort of like how I poach chicken. Put garlic, onions, celery and carrots in pot with chicken. Boil. Add eggs for the last ~8 minutes. You end up with broth, chicken, veggies on the side and hard boiled eggs. Makes lunch super easy all week!

Nice, I would have made potato salad with carrot and egg

Different cooking times? 🤷

No matter how big or small something is, it always boils in the exact same amount of time, i.e. seven hours
