


I have a new found appreciation for the sweet bread of my country (Puerto Rico) 😅
The recipe used was from King Arthur Baking's Big Book of Bread. I don't have a stand mixer so i had to make do with mixing by hand but I'm very happy with the result and taste!

Yum! We have something very similar in 🇵🇠we call it Ensaimada Mallorca. It’s the same bread (even the swirl) but it is topped with an icing made of powdered sugar and butter, plus grated cheese, plus slices of salted duck egg!
I hate powered sugar with the fire of a thousand suns, but aesthetically these look great!
Oh hell yeah. I tried to make mallorcas many years ago and failed miserably. But these are beautiful!
And mixed by hand? Damn!
