I know I don’t have the highest tolerance for spicy food—but this stuff is no joke, right? Prepped a bowl of noodles with the full sauce packet and a fried egg yesterday. Taste is fine-to-good, not great. Heat is overwhelming in the moment, but I finished the bowl and felt fine after. Today I did about 2/3 sauce packet which definitely toned down the heat, but diminished the flavour as well. Probably won’t buy again.

Everyone reports that this one is spicier than it should be. The trick isn’t just the Scoville rating, it’s how it’s delivered. It’s delivered in oil. It’s like how wind chill makes you feel a whole lot colder than you really are, the speed and consistency with which the heat is delivered to you is what makes it how hot it is.

It’s not too hot to everyone, but everyone knows this one is hotter than just the shu rating.

Damn yo. I like spicy food but I pass on Buldak. My wife likes it tho. I’ll tell her to try the 2x pack.

I’ve eaten it once, and it was well above my comfort level. Because of the oil, it was the first time I had the “fire hose” experience. That was not something I was prepared for.

It’s definitely actually spicy and not just the generic spice level you see on some ramen labeled spicy or hot.

I like the taste so when I don’t want all of the heat I’ll sometimes mix in some butter.

Doesn’t really bother me. Throw some air-fried fried chicken on it and I’m in heaven. It does destroy my stomach though.

  6. Just had a 2x for lunch today and was underwhelmed. Didn’t seem any hotter than the regular. I did have a bit of water that I didn’t completely drain so I wonder if that brought the perception of eat down.

This one hits hard, I love it but sometimes it can be a little much.

Buldak carbonara with my choice of added hot sauce is my go to.

  8. I prefer other flavours, like habanero lime. Just add some vegs, meat, egg, then cut a fresh habanero into it. Same heat as 2x, good rounded taste, less ‘rusty’ and aggressive on the stomach. imho those 2x/3x are a fun product to try, but upping the heat just by increasing extract and vinegar is a terrible choice.

Ironically I didn’t find the 1x that bad until it hit my gut lol

it’s a scam, i swear there’s no difference between this one, and the regular one.

The first couple times I made this I disregarded the instructions and made it as ramen (soup). That was a little too much heat for me and I’m a fairly high tolerance chile head.

Then I started making it per the instructions, a stir fry noodle dish, and like that I don’t find it too hot at all. Pretty tasty actually.

I think when that chile oil gets in water it just gets all over your mouth and really packs a punch.

I quite like the 2x. It’s a pretty mild heat by true chilihead standard, not the average person is sure to feel it. I actually put a few drops of Mad Dog in it to really turn up the heat.

  13. Artificial chicken flavor??? I didn’t know that was a thing. It’s not like we have a shortage of chicken byproduct and chicken isn’t expensive at all. Why?

I like the heat of these but the flavor isnt all that great. way to artificial tasting.

I used to eat these all the time years ago but with age my heartburn has gone up so I had to move down to the Original

I eat this on the regular with diced leftover grilled pork tenderloin (marinated with bachans). Quite manageable if you have a decent spice tolerance.

That shit is gross and leaves a nasty coating your teeth. Doesn’t even taste good.

How was the “final destination” of the full packet? If you know what I mean.

  19. LuckInternational336

Decent for budget meal prepping, if you add the sauce to the pre-cooked noodles and protein/veg before you microwave it.

Just trying this now for the first time. It is definitely spicy! I thought I bought the regular but apparently I got the 2x spicy. It is now joke. Pretty good though.

  21. Is the x3 one the hottest? I could not find any Ramen or Ramyun hotter than these. I love them and also the variety in which them come. Not really very hot for me but the taste is always *chef’s kiss*.
