“This great Auslese-type riesling has a dreamlike beauty. Incredible white peach and spring flower aromas, the floral honey character building gently as it flows over your palate. Great concentration, but every bit as much delicacy. This is frankly sweet, but the freshness and purity are off the scale. Incredibly long and filigreed finish that takes your breath away.”

omg i tried botrytized riesling at a friend’s house last semester and it literally changed my life.. that honey sweetness is unreal.

Dangerously close to ordering a shipment from them based on this review. $60/bottle is a little higher for a non-traditional Finger Lakes wine…

I’ve met the winemaker Nancy Irelan a few times, she’s awesome. This is her bio on Linkedin:
> Nancy is the winemaker and partner at RTR. She has been a part of the wine industry for over 35 years. Nancy’s career path includes a decade at E&J Gallo as VP of Viticulture & Enology R&D, a PhD in grape genetics in the UC-Davis Viticulture and Enology Depart, along with various consulting gigs. After years of large volume production and mass appeal, Red Tail Ridge is a personal journey and introspection for Nancy as she focuses on how to best represent the unique personality and terroir of her vineyard under the constantly evolving seasonal fluctuations of each FLX vintage.
