The program of the 10th edition of the Week of Italian Cuisine in the World (SCIM) in Serbia, dedicated this year to the theme “Italian cuisine between culture, health and innovation,” was presented today at a press conference at the Palilula market in Belgrade. The meeting unveiled to the public a rich calendar of initiatives that, from November 17 to 23, will celebrate in Belgrade and other locations in the country the identity, social and economic value of the Italian culinary tradition and its candidacy as a UNESCO intangible heritage.

The 2025 program, promoted by the Embassy of Italy in Belgrade in collaboration with Sistema Italia (Ice-Agency, Italian Cultural Institute, Italian-Serbian Chamber of Commerce and Confindustria Serbia), enhances Italian gastronomy between tradition and innovation, articulating itself in four thematic areas. A central role will be reserved for artistic interpretation, with the photographic exhibition “Eating with the Eyes,” curated by Luisa Valieri, Mauro Turatti and Francesco Rucci, at the Italian Cultural Institute. The same Institute will promote on November 19 an evening dedicated to the relationship between Italian cuisine and cinema, with the screening of the film “Tutte le donne della mia vita.”
Also this year, special attention will be paid to the theme of solidarity. Thanks to the collaboration of Pietra, Crazy Pizza, Majstor i Margarita and da Giovanni pizzerias, children from the Prihvatiliste za decu Shelter House, Save the Children, the School for Children with Disabilities “Veljko Ramadanovic” and the Down Syndrome Association Belgrade will be able to participate in pizza dough workshops, celebrating together one of the most beloved products of Italian cuisine. In cooperation with UNHCR Serbia and chef Francesco Nicolai, a dinner of Italian specialties will also be organized, prepared by students of the hotel school “Ugostiteljsko-turisticka Skola” together with young refugees hosted in Serbia.

As usual, Culinary Week will be an opportunity to promote Made in Italy and its quality. On Nov. 19, the inaugural “Italian Flavors” event will kick off Ice’s promotional campaign of Italian products at large Serbian retailers organized at Aroma supermarkets. The online portal Shoppster will launch a “Made in Italy” campaign in cooperation with Confindustria Serbia, while the Chamber of Commerce will organize a tasting workshop dedicated to extra virgin olive oils, aimed at industry experts.

Finally, two events will celebrate the conviviality that Italian tradition brings. On November 20, the “Italian Wine Night” returns to Paliluska Pijaca, an evening open to the public in collaboration with the Ice Office, dedicated to tasting the best Italian wines. Wine will also be the protagonist at the Wine Vision Fair in Belgrade, where thanks to Ice and Verona Fiere about seventy Italian producers will present their excellence. Chefs Rosaria Napoli and Isabella Catalano will share the secrets of Italian cuisine with the students of the hotel institute “Visoka hotelijerska Skola” through five lessons and a masterclass dedicated to “Flavors of Sicily,” aimed at Serbian colleagues at the Metro Ho.Re.Ca.

The Week of Italian Cuisine in the World 2025 is confirmed as a privileged opportunity to promote, through food, cultural dialogue, social inclusion and the enhancement of Made in Italy, strengthening the link between Italy and Serbia under the sign of tradition and innovation.
