The safety instructions look quite nasty, is it OK to use near food?

I used this in my car recently when I replaced the exhaust. The burn off was horrendous. And took quite a few miles until It didn’t utterly stink.

I would not use this around food.

  2. I looked at many places to find the official sealer but no luck in germany. I researched the product and believe this was the equivalent.

I used this or one very very similar and same brand also copper and have had no issues. No smell after installing new gasket and doing a cleaning burn.

It’s the best option I could find here and had no issues or off smells.

Could fix. But it could release potential chimical gasses when your gasket reaches high temperatures. I don’t think you want that in your food

I used lava lock. Been going strong for several years now.

I don’t have a factual answer for you but I used this to repair my gasket a year or so ago and then did a cleaning burn after a day or two to help it set and clean the grill (and encourage any off gassing?)

I’ve had no issues with fumes or weird smells.

If you’re worried then I would recommend contacting KJ customer service for a replacement gasket.

I used this to fix my gasket where it became loose. Worked very well. No issues.

Yes! I have used this on my KJ with no issues, smells, or flavors. Let dry over night then a small short burn say 300 or 350f for an hour to ensure cure is completed.

This is what Ron Pratt who supplies Rutland gaskets for Big Green Eggs says to use. Look him up and you’ll see a lot of positive reviews praising his instructions.

This is what I have used to fix my joe’s gasket because it was what I saw recommended numerous times. Works great. It’s meant for high heat applications

I’ve used JB Weld high temp silicone with excellent results. Make sure you prep the surface. You’ll want it super clean.
