126 muffins to be exact. It was a lot of effort, and probably in total about 5 or 6 hours of labor. I baked these in batches of 33 at a time in my Nero 400 bread oven. I use 4″ crumpet rings sandwiched between 2 half-sheet pans, flipping halfway through. Cornmeal for dusting.

  2. I need a good runny egg and some sausage with these… and a cup of coffee

Don’t care what time it is

Please share your tips for getting them so big! I used to make them for a bakery I worked at years ago, but we never did perfect the recipe. I never quite got the big air bubbles I wanted.

You have some serious rise on those beauties!! I love your idea of using crumpet rings so maybe those supported the high rise? What do the internal muffin nooks look like? Really fantastic effort! 5 stars!!

PS. I’ve always pan cooked mine with a brief finish in the oven (optional). Am curious about straight on baking them…

Show us the nooks and crannies! It looks like you’ve really got them down! I only ever made them once and the recipe I used was so messy and annoying I never tried them again.

Once found an english muffin bread recipe for bread machine so ya just slice it and toast it but can’t find it . Your muffins look way good

These look amazing! I’ve not perfected my shape, so maybe I need some crumpet rings! We have an outdoor griddle I put them on to cook all at once. They’re so good!

Honey Butter with some ground cinnamon please for one.

And Sausage, Cheddar Cheese (Shredded not sliced) and Bacon with the muffins toasted using Kerrygolds’s butter…gotta be Kerrygolds.

Also, are you needing a new neighbor? Asking for a friend.

Toast one put cream cheese on.
    Or
A sausage patty with a fried egg, tomato and lettuce and mayo.
    I’ll take 12 muffins please.
    They look wonderful.

My mother made them and I am not sure which was better… the smell of them FRYING or the first hot bite with real butter dripping from them.
