HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) – If you’re looking for a Thanksgiving-style meal but would rather dine out than cook, several restaurants will be open for service, including SERA at the Renaissance Honolulu Hotel & Spa.
The former MARA restaurant on Kapiolani Boulevard underwent a change in management earlier this year and is now called SERA.
Led by executive chef Jeremy Shigekane and operated by DB Restaurant Group, the eatery serves vibrant Mediterranean cuisine with Asian influences, using local ingredients and sustainable practices.
Shigekane joined HNN’s Sunrise to showcase his special Thanksgiving family-style menu that includes herb-roasted turkey with giblet gravy and hibiscus cranberry chutney, quinoa and wild rice with celery, apple and toasted macadamia nuts, long bean casserole with frisée salad, crispy garlic and onion, pumpkin tartelette with chocolate and coconut haupia cream, and more.
“Thanksgiving at SERA is all about sharing the table. We pair familiar flavors with seasonal ingredients and bright Mediterranean accents so guests can relax, pass the plates, and enjoy the day together,” said Shigekane.
Shigekane previously led the kitchen at 100 Sails Restaurant & Bar at Prince Waikiki and operated his award-winning restaurant Chef Mavro.
The Thanksgiving menu will be offered on Nov. 27 from noon to 7 p.m. for $75 per person, plus tax and gratuity.
SERA is open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, with pau hana available Monday through Friday from 3 to 6 p.m.
The restaurant is located at 1390 Kapiolani Blvd and offers three-hour complimentary valet and self-parking.
