There aren’t a ton of fussy ingredients in my pantry, but one staple I’ll never go without is good olive oil. After hearing celebrity chefs and restaurant pros weigh in on their favorites—and doing a few rounds of my own taste tests—I’ve finally landed on a favorite: Graza.
After years of shelling out for the high-quality stuff, I was thrilled when it started showing up on Costco shelves. But recently, things got even better: the wildly popular olive oil has gone on sale for less than anyone could’ve expected—the cheapest it’s ever been seen.
Graza Olive Oil on Sale at Costco
The obsession with Graza’s extra virgin olive oil is real. Fans call it their “favorite olive oil” and “such an incredible product.” So when people noticed it going for less than $3 at Costco, chaos quickly broke out online, with comments like “Run to Costco!!”
That’s right—Costco shoppers spotted Graza Sizzle Extra Virgin Olive Oil marked down to an unbelievable price. It’s not the most flavorful in Graza’s lineup (that’s reserved for its Drizzle bottle), but Sizzle is perfect for high-heat cooking—roasting, toasting, and sautéing—while still adding a mild olive oil flavor.
Here’s the kicker: although the one-liter bottle is labeled at $4.97, it’s ringing up at checkout for just $2.97.
Now, if you’re wondering what’s behind this shockingly low price, Costco fans might already have a clue thanks to the telltale sign on the price tag: the .97-ending means it’s on clearance (the lowest possible price), and the asterisk on the tag—known to Costco fans as the “star of death”—signals that the product will be discontinued once it’s gone.
But don’t fret—a few of our editors checked the stock at their local Costco stores and found a new two-bottle pack of Graza Sizzle available. So it’s likely the warehouses are simply clearing inventory to make space for the new packs.
Graza devotees have another theory: The brand announced it is making a major change to its packaging, switching from plastic bottles to glass. Meaning this could be the last batch of plastic bottles we’ll see on shelves, and the brand is trying to clear space for the new version to roll in.
At the rate shoppers are scooping up this deal, unless you’re already on your way to Costco, you’ll probably miss out on this unicorn find.
But even if you miss this markdown, there’s a silver lining. The two-pack bottles of Graza Sizzle are already in stock at some Costco locations for less than $20, which is still a great deal, and hopefully we’ll start seeing warehouses stocking the new glass bottles as well.
If you’re an olive oil lover like me, rest assured that Costco is still the best place to stock up on your EVOO. And if Graza’s not your favorite, there are plenty of other quality options waiting for you and your membership card.
