Many years ago, I’d buy this cut of beef at a small town Texas grocery and used it often but that was probably 30 years ago and I don’t remember what I did with it! I rarely buy beef anymore and don’t want to mess this up.
If you have suggestions on ways to cook it, what to do with it, etc. please share.
I’ll place a grocery order later today and can get ingredients if I don’t have them so I’m pretty open to suggestions.
I love Asian food, Tex-Mex, and darn near anything that tastes good. I also have a variety of cooking methods.
Thank you.

Too thin for a beef curry?
Sandwiches of some kind.
Stir fry.
Stir fry or fajitas
Bulgogi
Tacos. Add some onions, peppers, and cilantro (if you like it) and fry it up. Use whatever Taco seasoning you prefer.
Gyudon!!
I love to make carne guisada and serve it over some nice cheesy mashed potatoes. Not the exact recipe I use but something like this https://www.kitchengidget.com/2018/12/14/carne-guisada-recipe-mexican-style/

I don’t know why but that looks like the ideal beef to make carne picada
Have it for breakfast topped on an onion/mushroom omelette, for lunch in an open face rye toast sandwich with onions and mushrooms, for dinner with cabbage and potatoes (sautéd with onions and mushrooms).
Hotpot’s not really a “slow cooker” food, though I’ve certainly thought about putting my Crock-Pot on high in the middle of the table.
That’s what I thought, anyway.
Carne picada
Have you looked into the suggested use, carne picada? Sounds like a solid taco filling: [https://www.everydaysouthwest.com/easy-carne-picada-recipe-one-of-the-best-beef-recipes/](https://www.everydaysouthwest.com/easy-carne-picada-recipe-one-of-the-best-beef-recipes/)

This is meant to be grilled. Not for slow cooker!

Looks like carne picada to me…
It’s literally on the label. Carne Picada.
Italian beef sandwiches. Real easy just buy the Au Jus package from the seasoning aisle. Add water then put in the meat and let it cook. Throw it on some French rolls
Weird. The stores around me call carne picada beef that’s been chopped into tiny pieces. Think bigger than ground, much smaller than stew meat. Anyway, it’s perfect for chili.
Mille-feuille nabe. Healthy, quick, simple, easy, delicious!
Bulgogi
Shabu Shabu?
I’m only just getting back into cooking after ~8 years of not doing any at all (change in life circumstances, Mrs became a homemaker/housewife), as I realised I really missed it.
With my limited knowledge, if I’d been buying beef to use in a slow cooker I’d have probably gone for some form of diced beef. I’m really not sure how this cut of beef would work in a slow cooker – I’m now deeply invested in what you end up doing with it and would really love you to update us afterwards (please), ideally with pictures!
If I’d bought this cut of beef I would potentially think about velveting it and make something with noodles or rice, but probably in a frying pan, not the slow cooker. Though I wouldn’t be doing that at present anyway as we really need a better frying pan than the one we have..
Beef and broccoli stir fry. I saw you noted you have Japaese curry cubes- I’ve made those before using them. Just lightly brown the beef and remove it then and a bunch of bite sized broccoli, onions, mushrooms, water chestnuts, etc. and saute them until they are a little soft. Add ¾-1 cup beef broth and heat until simmering then thrown in your cube and stir. 😊
I actually made a vegetable curry stir fry using a cube last night.
Carne Picada maybe?
Beef and broccoli
Carne picada
I use it for Picadillo
