
Just need a rant, I knew I should have listened when I was warned to buy a broil king regal 400 but I got it for $400 which seemed like a deal too good not to take up, but here I sit with a pork butt in my oven to finish after the grill jammed itself for the 5th time in a month after 5 hours of cooking with no desire to un jam it again at 6 AM. Just about every other cook it has done this and I am so infuriated, managed to get off 2 dino ribs and a few steaks at least but I’m just sad at this point and dont know what to do anymore as customer service keeps asking me to send photos of a perfectly good looking grill and saying that a 50 minute heat up to 225° is normal. Ran lumberjack, kirkland, traeger and bear mountain pellets which all say are fine but will suddenly all not work mid cooks like right now. Anyways, anyone know where I can buy large quantities of tannerite?

I used to exclusively use Broil King for gas grills. I bought a new one and it was the cheapest piece of shit I’ve ever assembled. Literally sheet metal with bends that slotted into plastic brackets.
Then I had an issue… customer service was horrendous. Refused take any responsibility when the grill collapsed while I pushed it across my deck. They happily admitted that the plastic caster holders were the issue but all I needed was new larger screws and I was good to go. The grill was completely twisted.
After weeks of back and forth they basically told me to take the new screws or

get lost. I returned it to the store for a full refund and bought a Weber Genesis. Built like a tank and performance is better than anything Broil King ever made.
And that’s why there’s a Weber pellet smoker on my deck now.
What pellets are you using? How old are they? How/where are they stored?
When I was researching what to buy, I found comments for just about every brand supporting it *except* this one. Broil King was the only one I was unanimously advised against. I don’t understand how they’re still selling stuff at this point.
Pellets (maybe?). Until very recently, I had an older Pit Boss – when they were better made than what they sell today. I could ONLY use Traeger or Pitt Boss pellets. Every time I tried to use any of the “better” pellets, including Lumberjack, it would jam. EVERY time… I’m anxious to start experimenting with pellets again now that I have my new Weber Searwood.
I’ve had the 500 for just under a year and use Kirkland pellets and it’s been absolutely perfect, no issues whatsoever, sorry to hear you haven’t had the same experience.
Don’t get a Traeger either. Go straight to Yoder and don’t look back.
I managed to grab a traeger right before they fell to darkness this bad boy is going on 5 years now.

The Broil King branded pellets have a smaller diameter. I haven’t had any jams in my 400 unless the pellets have gotten wet.
