Toronto is renowned for its dining scene. And coming this month, there’s a new modern Greek restaurant opening in the city that will replace a former Eastern Mediterranean spot.

From the team at Ink Entertainment and OHS Global, Meláni is set to bring the spirit, culture, and hospitality of the Aegean coast to the heart of uptown Toronto.

And it’s taking over Ink Entertainment’s Byblos uptown location, which closed Oct. 20. Byblos downtown remains open.

“We want Meláni to capture the soul of Greek dining — rich in culture, full of connection, and alive with energy,” said Charles Khabouth, CEO of Ink Entertainment and co-owner alongside Danny Soberano.

“From the dishes and wines to the space itself, every element is designed to be simple, elegant, and fun, creating a dining experience that is effortless, vibrant and memorable.”

Opening exactly one month after the Byblos closure on Nov. 20, Meláni, Greek for “Ink,” will feature a menu with wood-fired grilled chicken, slow-roasted lamb shank, premium seafood, and an array of mezze.

With Greek dining “rooted in the connection between people, ingredients and tradition,” cooking will highlight fresh herbs, premium olive oils, sun-ripened vegetables, and specially sourced seafood, according to the team.

“The team cooks, pours, and serves with warmth, creating a dining experience that feels effortless, full of joy, and alive with energy,” the team states.

“Each moment is designed to delight the senses and elevate the art of dining.”

The restaurant will also have a wine list that highlights Greek Mediterranean offerings, alongside international selections.

Inside Meláni, diners will notice natural textures, greenery, coastal accents, hand-painted plates, and artisan vases.

“Vibrant yet relaxed, the space invites guests to enjoy a sophisticated dinner, a special date night, or an intimate celebration with friends,” the team adds.

Reservations to the new restaurant are now available online and Meláni will be located at 2537 Yonge St.

Headquartered in Toronto, aside from Meláni, Ink Entertainment is also behind the city’s Akira Back, VELD Music Festival, REBEL, and Taglialatella Galleries.

And OHS Global is an investment boutique specializing in ventures across technology, design, hospitality and retail.
