CHICO, Calif. — The Community Action Agency of Butte County North State Food Bank is set to hold a food distribution event in Chico on Saturday.
The food distribution will take place from 10 a.m. until 12 p.m., or until supplies run out, at the Silver Dollar Fairgrounds. Due to the increasing need for community support in light of the SNAP benefit delay,s the food bank added a supplemental distribution in Chico.
Organizers say the food distribution will include a stock up of basics. The bags will include nonperishable foods such as pasta, pasta sauce, rice, beans, frozen ground beef and oatmeal to supplement pantries. They are asking participants to remain in their vehicles and follow the traffic flow guides. The food distribution is free for everyone attending.
