LANSING, Mich. (WILX) – A Lansing small business is giving back to the community with a free food pantry pop-up.

Flesh Piercings, a piercing shop in Lansing’s Old Town, will provide free food and household goods for those in need.

The pantry will be open during regular business hours: Tuesday, Thursday Friday and Saturday from noon to 8 p.m., and Sunday from noon to 6 p.m.

The shop is closed Mondays and Wednesdays.

“Supporting our community isn’t an obligation for us, it is a responsibility we embrace because Lansing built us. Our clients and neighbors have supported us, encouraged us, and helped us grow,” said a Flesh Piercings spokesperson.

“With food insecurity rising and many families unsure where their next meal is coming from, we believe it is only right to give back… in a moment where SNAP benefits are paused or reduced, the holidays fast approaching, and uncertainty around every corner, we want to be part of the solution.”

The shop requests that pop-up pantry patrons only take what their family needs.

Those who wish to donate can drop off food and household goods any time during business hours.

Flesh Piercings also called on local businesses to join the fight against food insecurity.

“We invite and encourage other Lansing businesses, inside and outside the body piercing industry, to join us in supporting those who need it most. The stronger we stand together, the better we can serve the city that has always stood behind us,” the business said.
