Chef Takeroshi Azumi runs the spot with his wife in a strip mall on Ventura blvd, next to a Raising Canes and feed store lol it really feels like a Japan experience finding such a place as a hole in the wall.
I had the amazingly fortunate experience of being the only diner so it was like having a private chef! But usually the restaurant seats about 8 people for 2 seatings/night, 5:30 and 7:30. You can make reservations by calling (818) 616-4148
The whole experience is fantastic. Chef Azumi makes sure to create his menu around the seasons and provides best ingredients with his best cutting, cooking, and kitchen techniques!
He explains every course, explaining the types of fish, where they come from, how it’s prepared, and how it may be similar or different to common cuts used at other restaurants.
I first visited in 2022 and the experience is just as amazing as the first time.
