Hollywood representation giant United Talent Agency (UTA) has signed one hell of a new client – Parmigiano Reggiano, the original recipe parmesan cheese.

The Parmigiano Reggiano Consortium has revealed that UTA has signed the group with the aim of getting their smelly cheese staple placement in films, TV shows and streaming projects around the globe.

The group says in a statement that UTA will “leverage its expertise and global connectivity across entertainment and culture to introduce Parmigiano Reggiano to a wide pool of partners, to further its message of gastronomical excellence and high-quality ingredients, production and distribution.”

While Parmesan has become a catch-all term for certain hard, grated cheeses that can be made anywhere, Parmigiano Reggiano is the original, authentic Italian Parmesan cheese made from raw milk and with a specific, strict set of manufacturing and production rules.

It has been made in essentially the same way for nearly a millennium now, and can only be produced in one of five Italian provinces. The group’s marketing chief Carmine Forbuso says of this deal: “We’re excited to explore new formats and platforms to express this story globally.”

Alongside Cheddar, Mozzarella, Feta, and Brie, Parmesan is one of the most famous cheeses on the planet and is ubiquitous across grocery stores, restaurants and in homes.
