A gala dinner was organized by the Embassy of Italy in Tbilisi as part of the 10th Italian Cuisine Week, dedicated to the diversity of culinary traditions and the excellence of Italian cuisine, which is a candidate for UNESCO intangible cultural heritage.

“The Italian Cuisine Week,” said Italian Ambassador to Georgia Massimiliano D’Antuono, “aims to make the world aware of the incredible variety of Italy’s culinary heritage, from the food and wine traditions of the regions and territories to the products to the inimitable excellence of our chefs. And it is undoubtedly the perfect opportunity to enhance, through culinary art, the image of our country.”
“After the stages dedicated to the education and theater of the promotional event of the Emilia-Romagna Region in Georgia, conceived and successfully implemented by the Embassy,” D’Antuono added, “it was decided to celebrate the Week under the banner of one of the richest, most appreciated and well-known regional cuisines in the world, that of Emilia-Romagna itself, a region that boasts the record among Italian regions for the number of products recognized with PDO and PGI designations, with their authentic and unforgettable flavors, from Parmigiano Reggiano to Prosciutto di Parma, from Mortadella di Bologna to Aceto Balsamico di Modena.”
The dinner, hosted at the ‘Dumas’ restaurant, was prepared by Stefano Scarso, joined by Almos Galeotti and Daniela Antoniotti, brilliant Italian chefs from the Alma International School of Italian Cuisine, a center of excellence in the high training of catering and hospitality professionals. The event, organized by the Embassy in collaboration with Ice-Ita, was attended by more than 120 guests, including representatives of the diplomatic corps, the business world and the cultural world, who had the opportunity to enjoy a special menu, enriched with pregame ingredients and wines. The event was embellished by the finest pieces of classical music performed by Georgian musicians Iano Tamar (Alibegashvili), one of the best dramatic soprano voices, recently awarded the honor of Cavaliere della Stella d’Italia, the famous and refined tenor Otar Jorjikia, and the talented pianist Nika Nikvashvili. The evening ended with a raffle to win various prizes offered by the Embassy’s various partners.
