So, I have never killed anything in my life other than a fly. So, you can only imagine the fright I got when I went to open a box of freshly delivered seafood and a big scary live lobster jumped out of me. It was definitely not frozen as I had requested. So, I had to step up and put this poor little guy out of his misery the quickest and most humane way possible. But, I’m not going to lie, I will forever be traumatized from this experience. So much so that I couldn’t even enjoy my delicious buttered lobster pasta that I look forward to every time I make it, which is only once or twice a year because it is such a treat. The lobster tail meat is slowly poached in lots of butter that’s been infused with all the flavor from the lobster shell before we create a sauce with shelots, garlic, white wine, and cherry tomatoes. I also wanted to honor this lobster as much as I could. So, I made sure that I made a quick lobster stock to boil the pasta in. I’m sorry, my little lobster friend.

Look how big back her face is getting!! Good job keep eating
I used to go crabbing and fishing all the time on the opposite side of the Pacific, and killing the crabs and salmon was always the hardest part. I think there is value in the difficulty we have killing things. It helped me to understand that the stuff we buy in packages at the grocery store all came from a real living breathing creature – most with more human emotions and behaviors than a lobster.
We have a responsibility to make sure the creatures we consume lived and died as well as we would want for our fellow persons. The same goes for their produce such as eggs and dairy.
This channel is so cringe now. I hate your voice and the way you express yourself when you talk. You sound so fake, superficial and scripted. Unsubscribed and will be down voting your videos from now on.
When we kill for our own food we learn to appreciate every single bite. Its actually a good thing because we then learn the value of the animals life for the sake of our sustenance and learn not to waste and also not to kill in abundance. It brings us closer to the animal in a way that they are treated well while alive and honored in their death by not letting the meat go to waste. It teaches humans not to take it for granted and remember also those that go hungry every day. This is all just a part of life. Its alright. ❤
Muss man das essen?! Und dann noch als Video reinstellen???!! Tierquälerei vor laufender Kamera!!! Buh! 👎🏼👎🏼👎🏼
I feel like everything I read about lobster is basically if you aren’t killing it yourself it’s not fresh. Like I guess it just has no shelf life or something.
I just watched a video from Wolfgang Puck. Here is his quote on lobster: “If they are dead already don’t buy them.”
I almost unfollowed you for this one….dont ever show you killing someone again.
No cream?!?!
That's not a lobster (Americans call it that). It's a CRAYFISH downunder. Lobsters are completely different with bigger flatter claws… PEOPLE CALL IT WHAT YOU LIKE, BUT BEING IN MY 60s, IT WAS A CRAYFISH THEN AND IS A CRAYFISH NOW. After all, we're Australians!
Traumatized- a word anyone just uses to represent fear. Ugh!!
yup that looked very humane, should we consider doing this for the death penalty from now on
Oof. That's tough! But you did it!
That lobster sacrificed himself for a delicious pasta dish! Love lobster! 🦞❤ I would be traumatized too if I had to do that! 🤯🫣
Commentaire bidon…..Quelle horreur….
We all know you ate it but I'll pretend you didn't no worries
Yummm! That looks delicious. I might try making this on Thanksgiving
Great food > food trauma
Worth killing for😋
I think it was a great experience to come face to face with life. It's good that we no longer have to go hunting, but in this modern age where we just buy packs from the supermarket, it's hard to appreciate life. I too will try to cherish the "itadakimasu" (thank you for the meal).
😂😂❤
Aww man, I’m glad you managed to get it done quickly. I personally struggle eating things I find cute so I don’t really eat crustaceans or seafood so I haven’t done this myself, but I can imagine how hard it must’ve been to muster up the courage to do it right.
Lobsters can't jump!
I feel so bad that she doesn't want to kill the lobster
Hope you learned a valuable lesson
I remember when I killed my first crab, first lobster, and recently my first dove after a bad shot only knocked it down but didn't kill. It's never a pleasant feeling but it does get easier.
We went so far of our neutral instinct. Its now traumatizing to cook.
Weak weak modern standards
Thank you for not boiling it alive.
Don't eat meat if you wouldn't personally hunt it.
How to humane murder…. ok
I remember the trauma of fish market.
I completely get the feeling of not being able to enjoy it if you cut it yourself! However, I also believe that if we kill the animal, the best way to honour it is to enjoy it as much as possible 🙂
Looks great 😊 This would also be delicious with some Lobster Bisque in the pasta 😋
Torture.
Thank you wise garlic lady.
