Vik Winery in Millahue Valley (Chile) is “World’s Best Vineyard” and thus the most interesting wine tourism destination in 2025. The competition, founded in 2019, publishes an annual ranking of the “50 most extraordinary places of wine” and aims to promote wine tourism. It honors experiences that wineries offer their visitors – such as landscapes, history, exceptional restaurants, and wine tours. In second place, as the best destination in Europe, is Schloss Johannisberg**** in the Rheingau.

Vik Vineyards was founded in 2004 by Alex and Carrie Vik. Their goal was to produce good wines without compromising the original landscape and nature. Architect Simijan Radic designed buildings that integrate particularly well into the surroundings. The tribute to Schloss Johannisberg states: “It is a beacon for traveling wine lovers who find a true treasure trove within. Not only historians and Riesling fans are catered to here, but also gourmets and music fans.”

Following in the rankings are Bodegas Ysios in Rioja, Bodega Garzón (Uruguay), Château Smith Haut Lafitte**** (Bordeaux), Klein Constantia (South Africa), which also received the award for the biggest climber from 41st place last year to 6th; Creation (South Africa), Maison Ruinart**** (Champagne), Château d’Yquem***** (Bordeaux) and Montes (Chile). The Dr. Loosen Winery on the Mosel ranks 16th. With the Domäne Wachau**** in 68th place and the Weingut Tement***** in 82nd place, two Austrian wineries are also found in the extended list of the top 100.
