Capri Ristorante opened its doors on Monday (November 17) bringing an “authentic taste of Italy” to Westhoughton.
The restaurant at 19 and 21 Market Street is a new venture from the owners of San Marino in Belmont and CIBO in Egerton – and has already been a smash hit.
Owner Haziz Berisha said: “I’ve not had time to think – it’s been so busy!
“We thought it would start out slow because we’ve just opened but instead it’s been busy every day!”
He said the restaurant was aiming to copy the success of CIBO – with separate menus for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Chef and Haziz’s business partner, Bekim Gashi, said they also do specials which change every day – with Thursday’s special being “Italian-style” fresh mussels with scallops for starters and a sea bass salad.
He’s been involved with their successful restaurants since 2000 – so said he wasn’t surprised with how busy it’s been.

Bekim said: “We’ve had very happy customers – they’re very pleased with it – it’s a new venue and a new adventure!
“We’re just going to keep working to keep them pleased and keep doing what they ask us to do – it’s all really for the customers.
“We’ve got Italian music and the vibes are fantastic – everyone is more than welcome and the doors are open for them to come in and see what we do.”
