I’m going to show you how I make the filling for these canoli shells, which can also be used as a canoli dip. It has 8 oz of ricotta cheese, 4 oz of mascar pone cheese, a half a teaspoon of vanilla, and 3/4 of a cup of powdered sugar. And you blend that together until it’s very, very smooth. I then put it in the fridge for a few hours until it’s thickened up a little bit. It made it easier to work with and easier to fill the shells. I put it all into this reusable piping bag, but you could also use just like a Ziploc bag or any sort of bag that you can cut off the tip and it makes it super easy to fill the shells. Now, this filling can also be used as a dip. Uh you could just mix some chocolate chips right into the filling and serve it with some canoli chips, with some graham crackers, with some vanilla wafers or broken waffle cones are some great ideas to use the dip with. Um it also is just delicious on its own. I used it to fill these pre-made canoli shells that I got at the grocery store. On the ends of the canoli’s, I dipped them in some either chocolate chips or I also did some with some rainbow sprinkles because not everyone in my family likes the chocolate. I left some plain as well so we could decide which more which ones we wanted more of later on. Um, they came out so good, so delicious. My kids love them. My family loves them. I ended up using the container that the canoli shells came in to store them in. Put them in the fridge for storage. Enjoy.
