I purchased two vintage recipe boxes at an estate sale this month. Both very full of old recipes! Wanting to share.

These were a popular treat when I was a kid, and as I remember it, they’re unbelievably good!

Wouldn’t it be better to have a layer of chocolate and a layer of butterscotch instead of mixing them together?

My mom would make these for a special treat. Loved them. Now I gotta try the recipe! Thank you, OP!

My family still makes these for holidays, and until very recently they all believed it was a “secret family recipe.”

If you find them a bit too sweet as an adult, use natural peanut butter and unsweetened chocolate (the butterscotch chips will provide enough sweetness).
As a vegetarian these were the rice krispy treats I grew up with; I’ve never had the other sort.

I made these all the time when I was a tween/teen in the ‘70s! The butterscotch chips make them next level.

My mom makes these for the holidays. I can’t stand rice krispie treats, but I like these.

Yes, these are so good! You can also use Cheerios instead of Rice Krispies for another delicious version.
