I wanted to show a fully seasoned BGE. 15 years of smoking, high temp BBQ, pizza’s etc. My Dutch oven is on the way and I can’t wait to do short ribs.

    I’ve had mine around 11 years now still going strong. I love beer braised short ribs in the dutch oven. If you like chili this is a great recipe. https://sharedappetite.com/recipes/fire-roasted-chili-with-beer-braised-short-ribs-2/ The adjustments I make are put the dutch oven directly on the coals to do the searing of the short ribs at the beginning, and to sweat the onions. After that convert to indirect and follow the instructions. Be warned it is typically a full day endeavor for me, but worth it.

    My parents got one in the early 1970s, probably 72, and it was still going strong when they died in 2016. I already had one of my own by then so I had no use for their old one, but I could have rehabbed it with some new parts. The Egg is a lifetime purchase.
