Boise Rescue Mission’s Thanksgiving Banquet on Nov. 25 offers hundreds in need a traditional meal, with Christmas events in Boise and Nampa to follow.

BOISE, Idaho — Boise Rescue Mission Ministries is hosting its Great Thanksgiving Banquet in Boise from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 25.

Food will be served to “hundreds” of people at the Vineyard Boise Christian Fellowship on 4950 N. Bradley Street in Garden City, according to the organization. Boise Rescue Mission will serve “traditional Thanksgiving meals” and take-home boxes for those people. The organization held a similar gathering on Nov. 22 in Nampa.

The organization operates four shelter facilities in Boise and Nampa for unhoused people in the Treasure Valley. It serves over 800 meals daily and provide emergency shelter to nearly 400 people, according to the organization.

While registration for the Thanksgiving meal is closed, the Boise Rescue Mission hosts meals on Christmas in both Nampa and Boise. Registration for both of those meals is still open. Registration for the Boise location closes on Dec. 14, while registration for the Nampa location closes on Dec. 18.

The Boise Christmas Banquet is on Tuesday, Dec. 16, at the same location and time as the Thanksgiving banquet. Nampa’s Christmas banquet is on Saturday, Dec. 20 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Nampa College Church at 504 E Dewey Ave.

“Every year, our Thanksgiving Banquets remind us why we’re here — to meet people right where they are and show them the love of Christ through a warm meal and open arms,” said Rev. Bill Roscoe, the organization’s president and CEO.

Roscoe, along with volunteers, community members and Boise Rescue Mission staff, will serve meals at the Thanksgiving banquet. Anyone with questions should contact the organization’s holiday line at (208) 338-5433.
