La Petite Patisserie, a Lancaster city dessert boutique and cafe, will be closing this week.

La Petite Patisserie occupies a spot near Franklin & Marshall College at 621 Harrisburg Ave. where it moved in 2020 from its previous spot in the 100 block of North Prince Street.

In a post on the café’s Facebook page, owner Donna Lussier announced the plans to close Saturday.

“After 19 years in business — and five years in this location — I’ve made the decision to retire,” the post said. “This business has been a big part of my life …. It has been an honor to share it with you. The friendships, celebrations, and everyday moments we’ve shared will always stay with us, and we are deeply grateful for the community that has grown here.”

La Petite Patisserie sells a variety of pastries and desserts, including macaroons, cakes, tartes and scones and offers a brunch menu. Lussier said the kitchen will be closed on the last day, but the coffee bar will be open and pastries will be sold.

La Petite Patisserie occupies a 50-seat restaurant spot at College Row, a retail strip at Franklin & Marshall College.
