The Cocochine in Mayfair won the prestigious ‘UK Opening of the Year’ honour at the 2026 LaListe Awards in Paris at Pavillon Gabriel on Monday, 24 November 2025.Larry Jayasekara

LaListe states that its awards are “dedicated to the global world of cuisine to celebrate talents, creativity, innovation and craftsmanship.” Designed to help global travellers choose the best destination dining experiences, LaListe’s guide is created through a curation process that combines more than 1,100 expert sources and millions of online reviews.

“To receive such an esteemed award as LaListe’s ‘Opening of the Year’ means the work our team has done to create an exceptional dining experience for Londoners and visitors to the city is resonating with culinary connoisseurs from around the world,” says Jayasekara, who was in attendance to accept the award at the 10th annual gala. “Such recognition gives us the confidence to continue to bring distinct and innovative menus to our beautiful neighbourhood in Mayfair.”

The Cocochine is tucked away ion Bruton Place in a former mews building that features a state-of-the-art open kitchen. The restaurant sources 95% of its product from Rowler Farm Estate in Northamptonshire and Tanera Mòr, an island off the northwest coast of Scotland. Both the farm and island are privately owned by The Cocochine partners.

Under the leadership of Jayasekara, formerly head chef of Pétrus by Gordon Ramsay, The Cocochine is rapidly rising in prominence among culinary diners locally and around the world. Jayasekara combines his training in classical French cooking with recipes and spices from his native Sri Lanka.

Along with a showcase of culinary talent, The Cocochine is also a showcase for art, with original works from David Hockney, Henri Matisse, Pablo Picasso, Damien Hirst and more.
