Warm it up gently in a separate plate. Use microwave defrost mode and keep an eye on it so it won’t bubble up

I usually let it get to room temp

If its dango(I think thats how you spell it) with eel sauce or teriyaki then its waaaaay better warmed up.

Best frozen.

This is mitarashi dango. It should be grilled/toasted and eaten hot.
It should be beautifully soft and marshmallowy with a light char/grill mark on it, it’s a savory comfort food.

My go to mitarashi dango when it’s on sale for $2. I just eat it at room temperature

Cool thing called google Translate that every phone has, You can even use it the back to read stuff and how it should be made/eaten.

Airfryer it for a few minutes at 250 degrees.

Japanese here. Mitarashi dango is usually eaten warm if it’s fresh from a dango shop, or room temperature if you buy it prepackaged. I’m lazy so if it’s been in the fridge I’ll just eat it cold, but not ideal. You could microwave it for maybe 20 or 30 seconds to warm it up.
I see comments about eating them frozen, but I’ve never seen or heard of anyone eating frozen dango. I’d imagine they get quite hard. But I’m willing to give it a try lol

It doesn’t need to be eaten hot. It may or may not taste better when it’s warmed up.

It’s made from rice so it’ll be a bit stiff or rubbery when cold as opposed to soft and chewy. You *could* eat it that way but it’s better to warm it up a little.

I like them cold personally but warm is good too. I wouldn’t nuke it or anything I’d let it sit out on the counter for a few hours.
