I am making Ball's Carrot Cake Jam sonce it had such great reviews here. Mine just seems really, really thick. Can anyone provide some advice, assurance, or bad news on this?

You’ve definitely forgotten some ingredients here. This looks dry, like it’s just the carrot and pears and spices? There’s no way you have the pineapple and sugar in this pot.

It does tend to dry up for me. I use canned pineapple and try to reserve some juice or get a can of pineapple juice and add just enough so its still “sauteeing”.
I also mince the pear and pineapple very small so it releases more liquid as it cooks.
