When only two ingredients are in play, make them outstanding: espresso with a nice head of crema and, the ideal here, gelato al fior di latte—just the very best milk and cream, sweetened, no need for any flavoring. If you can buy it at your local gelato shop, do; if not, use a very good vanilla ice cream.
