Akahoshi Ramen: A Damn Good Bowl of Noodle Soup

Everything here was fantastically solid. Started with the Lychee Martini which was phenomenal, I’m a huge sucker for lychee. 10/10

I had the Akahoshi Miso, the broth was so rich and perfectly umami, the noodles were the PERFECT texture and doneness, the pork was deliciously fatty and the toppings were all perfectly serviceable and added variety to the bowl. 10/10

My friend got the Midwest Shoyu, which was a nice smoky chicken broth with wheat noodles. I thought this was pretty good but nowhere near as good as the Miso. It came with both chicken and pork though which I thought was neat, I love a little variety. 7.5/10

We walked in at 8:00 as a table of 3 with no reservation and were quoted a 35 minute wait time but were seated in 20.

Overall I’d say this was a really good experience and it was super fun to see @Ramen_Lord working the line, a bit of a Logan Square celebrity encounter. Go check it out if you haven’t!
