Hi everyone!

I've been wanting to make sourdough for years and figured i'd finally try it! Purchased a dehydrated starter from etsy, it arrived on Saturday and then I rehydrated and fed it with bread flour and tap water. I followed Alexandra Cook's recipe.

Here’s what I did:

• Fed my starter 50g water + 50g flour in the morning and let it double (took about 3 hours).
• Mixed 100g starter with 375g water and 9g salt. Slowly added 500g bread flour until combined.
• Covered and rested 30 minutes.
• Did stretch-and-folds every 30 minutes for 2 hours (4 total).
• Let it bulk ferment on my stovetop. I heated my oven to 350°F, turned it off, cracked it open, and let the warm air reach the dough.
• After ~2.5 hours it rose ~50%.
• Turned it out onto a floured board, shaped, rested 30 minutes, reshaped, and placed it in a rice-flour-coated banneton.
• Covered and refrigerated for a 20-hour proof.
• Preheated my 6 qt Dutch oven for 30 minutes at 500°F.
• Flipped dough onto a bread sling, scored, baked 30 minutes covered + 20 minutes uncovered.
• Let it cool 3 hours before slicing.

Would love any feedback on whether my process looks solid or what I could improve for next time! 😊

I’m no expert but I think it looks great! Hope it tastes great too.
I’ve been baking for a few months and I still can’t get mine to look this fluffy 😅🥲

Your process is more than solid lady, you did great for a first loaf. My first loaf was so bad I hid it in the bottom of the trash can. lol.
