I just saw that Portillo’s opened a restaurant in Georgia.

Any of you have tried Portillo’s outside of Chicagoland/Illinois?

Looking at the post comments, I see a lot of people are liking it.

I am wondering if they are able to conserve the restaurant, service, and food experience.

While I know a lot of people have experienced a decline of overall satisfaction after Dick Portillo sold, I need to be honest, I still enjoy the food from there.
¯_(ツ)_/¯

Expansion like this is why this sub is so ridiculous when out of towners come asking for recommendations and everyone circle jerks about how they have to try Portillos.

I had it in Phoenix because my nephews obsessed with it. It’s a chain, quality control is a priority so it’s not drastically different than here.

There are two of them in the Los Angeles area. Both are a pain in the ass to drive to from LA proper, but damn it, sometimes I need a Chicago dog and Italian beef.

I’ve had better back home in Chicago, but Portillo’s *really* scratches that itch when you need it to out here.

    I’ve had it in Dallas.

My Polish was solid but the cake shake wasn’t the same. Cake bits vs a real hunk of cake thrown in the blender.

I agree with the issues people have with the beef and for sure they’re cutting corners since being acquired. But if you stick with hot dogs/polish and fries I think you’ll find it’s still consistently good.
