Hello and let’s go on a world culinary journey. I’m Jason with Pursuing Travel with the Millers and in this particular uh episode we are going to head to Egypt and take a look at the very ancient Egyptian flatbread that is also called Ashish. It dates back to over 5,000 years. It was at one point used as offerings to the gods, currency to pay workers and all kinds of other things. It, as you can see, is a flatbread that is baked in an oven, as you can see, and really is a tasty bread. Uh we when we went to Egypt u had it for breakfast, for lunch, for dinner, quite a few different um places and times that that we would have it. So here’s an example of a breakfast buffet that we went to. Uh once again they have the hot Egyptian bread um continuously being put in there. We had it for dinner and it has kind of a little gritty kind of taste to the top of it and it really is a tasty and great bread. It’s also great not just alone, but you can have it with dipping it with on with different items like hummus, um, all kinds of other great Egyptian salad type items and things like that. For breakfast, what we really like to do is put it put honey on it and it almost was like a soapia in a way. But here’s some of the kind of items that you can use to dip the bread in or smear on the top of it. It’s really a unique, ancient, and very nice dish that you can have that’s very important to Egyptian society. Thanks for watching. Visit our website and contact us for your next adventure.
