I went to a Friendsgiving yesterday and was sadly unprepared to bring a dish (the perils of doing too much the days prior). I’m a recently consistent bread baker and just so happened to have a sourdough cold-proofing in the fridge. I knew it was a bit overproofed, so I decided to make it “funny” in hopes the novelty outweighed the loaf.
10/10 recommend for laughs!
Standard sourdough recipe, shape, mist with water and sprinkle rosemary and sea salt, baked in a roasting pan on a silpat, and voila! Sourdough turkey!

One of the better ones I’ve seen. Seasoned well and the colour looks great

Ooh that looks great! How did you get it to keep its shape? I’ve made a pumpkin one before and that was easier with twine but it didn’t look nearly as good as this

Silly?! U mean AWESOME and new!

I did not realize that was bread until I flipped to the second photo. I thought the “silly and new” somehow related to a cooking technique involving the crock pot and silicon mat.

The smile that appeared on my face was ear splitting. Thank you I needed that
