You should be fine. I would keep an eye on the smoke staining the ceiling just in case.

I wouldn’t. My lanai looks similar to that. I have a 13 x 13 umbrella for my pool that I can swing to cover the grill if I need it, otherwise the grill is just covered in the elements

For what it’s worth I’m about the same. I have a 10 dollar Kmart fan I run over near the stack and it carries the smoke away from the porch. Keeps the deck clean, makes the neighbors jealous and cost 10 bucks

Have you ever experienced a grease fire before? I’m 75% comfortable with that, but wouldn’t ever do an overnight cook. And I’d hang a fire extinguisher there nearby, just for peace of mind.
