Don't ask me how, but my mother brought Lombardi's from NY to CA today šŸ˜‚

My parents had business in NY and asked me spur-of-the-moment what Pizzaria to eat at. In my list of like 20 NY pizzerias I want to visit someday, Lombardi's was closest to where they were staying. When they flew back to CA they brought a surprise!

This is half Large Margherita and half Large White pie. Heated in an air fryer, it's like I'm there šŸ˜

Edit: Thank you for the positive responses. The negative responses have me scratching my head, but I guess that's how Reddit goes.

Because accuracy is important for such a simple Reddit post about something so unimportant, there are 3 Slices of Margarita and 5 slices of white.

I hope you all have a good Thanksgiving 🦃

The food from NYC I miss the most is a BEC on a roll, and I am very loud about it, lol. A couple of years ago, my sister-in-law, who lives there now, flew home for a wedding. She stopped at the deli on her way to the airport, bought me a BEC, and kept it in her carry-on all the way down to Texas. It was 12 hours old, but it was perfect. One of the best surprises I’ve ever gotten.

That’s certainly dedication. lol But I will add that there’s also very good pizza in CA. I can’t say all of CA, but I’ve been to a few excellent spots in SF.

They didn’t wrap it in plastic before transporting it?

Read the title only and in my Brooklyn accent said “Who does this guy think he is, Bobby Axlerod???”

I have colleagues and family in Phoenix and the Midwest. They always complain about how they can’t get a good pizza, bagel, BEC, whatever. I don’t understand why someone there doesn’t just open a B-grade (by NYC standards) spot and own the market. I don’t buy into the ā€œit’s the NY waterā€ bullshit.

This is like the reverse of New Yorkers getting In N Out flown out to the east coast lmao but I like this direction better

Good for you! Lombardi’s was elite for a long time, almost 2 decades. But they’ve fallen hard. Last pizza I had from them was… quite terrible. I don’t think I even finished it, which if you know me, you’d deem that unthinkable.

You never know. I thought L’Industrie was overrated crap, but that sample was the Brooklyn branch. I had a slice from Manhattan after a jazz show and was stunned. It was spectacular, and the service was top-shelf.

Julianna’s in Brooklyn now reigns as the best I’ve ever encountered *anywhere*.

Lived in NYC my whole life, worked and went to school downtown. Been to Spring Street many times, but I’ve never heard of or had Lombardi’s Pizza 😳 I’ve had Spumoni, Grimaldi’s (Juliana’s), and Patsy’s. I hope it was great
