I just opened these peas and carrots and have this strange brown webbing on the inside of the lid. It is the first can. I've opened up this batch and the first time I've canned them. Has anyone ever seen this before?

Were these pressure canned? What processing times did you use? Peas and carrots have different times and if you are going to combine them, it needs to be done with the longer processing time i.e. carrots are 25 minutes for pints while green peas are 40 minutes.

To me, this looks like the normal froth from boiling. By the pictures, though, do you store the cans with the rings on? As always, proceed at your own risk.

Might not see it on every lid you open, but absolutely nothing to worry about. Enjoy your efforts.
