BRYAN, Texas (KBTX) – Danny Morrison from Epicures Catering shared his recipes for two easy appetizers to kick off Thanksgiving feasts, calling them perfect for holiday entertaining when you need something delicious that looks like you spent hours in the kitchen.
Both recipes offer impressive results with minimal preparation time, making them ideal for busy holiday hosts.
Cranberry brie bites combine sweet and savory flavors
The cranberry brie bites combine creamy brie cheese, whole berry cranberry sauce and fresh rosemary wrapped in crescent dough and baked until golden brown.
Ingredients:
All-purpose flour (for dusting) 8-ounce crescent dough sheet (or crescent rolls) 8-ounce wheel of brie cheese 1 cup whole berry cranberry sauce (not jellied) Fresh rosemary sprigs (about 2 sprigs needed)
Instructions:
Preheat oven to 375°F
Spray 24-count mini muffin tin with cooking spray
Spread flour on counter or cutting board
Roll out crescent dough sheet (if using crescent rolls, pinch seams together)
Cut dough into 24 equal squares
Place squares into muffin tin slots
Cut brie into small pieces and place inside dough squares
Top with generous spoonful of cranberry sauce
Add small piece of rosemary to each bite
Bake until golden brown, about 15 minutes, then serve warm
Devil’s on horseback features bacon-wrapped dates
Devil’s on horseback is a sweet and savory bite featuring bacon-wrapped dates stuffed with almonds.
Ingredients:
Pitted dates Almonds Bacon
Instructions:
Stuff pitted date with an almond
Wrap date with ½ slice of bacon
Stick toothpick through wrapped date
Bake at 350 degrees Fahrenheit until bacon begins to brown
Turn once and finish
Serve and enjoy
