I quite like when things are served on something other than a plate.

I suppose it’s alright for a night out on the tiles.

It’s fine until one of my blueberries roll off.

I approve the fact that we want plates!

I hate the physical and audible sensation of a fork or spoon on slate.

This is…okay, I suppose. I think I have two main complaints when it comes to not using a plate. 1, is the thing food was put on able to be cleaned and sanitized in a proper fashion? 2, are they slopping food onto a small, flat surface and now it’s going to lead to a big mess?
This is probably okay for number 1? And even though you can already see some of the syrup running off the edge, the whole thing should be fine if you’re careful.

Personally, while I am big on presentation I don’t think it should ever take precedence over practicality of eating the dish. So the slate is a no from me. You get a thumbs up if the cheesecake is baked though! Always better than a no cook cheesecake.

I don’t mind some fun with plates, but there are actual plates approved for food/dishwasher friendly/etc that look unique and similar to other materials, in fun shapes too. So I suppose I’d prefer that over something that looks neat but isn’t actually food safe. This looks nice enough, I would just question whether it was created to eat off of.

I’m not one for that kind of presentation, but that doesn’t look bad for a desert. I’d still prefer an actual plate over the slate tile.
