So I fancy trying the process, and I have never done this before! I see 2 Wancle devices at the same price pretty much. The cheaper one has a higher wattage and literage than the expensive one on offer.

For normal household use, how much difference will this make? Or is the higher wattage just faster to heat?

As a side question, is this a reasonable sealer or is this one where buy cheap buy twice?

Thank you for your picture post to r/sousvide. We want to remind everyone of Rule #5. Posts should be accompanied by something to foster discussion. A comment, a question, etc is encouraged.

If you’ve posted a picture of something you’ve prepared, please explain why in a comment so people can have some sort of conversation. Simply dropping a picture of food in the sub isn’t really fostering any discussion which is what we’re all aiming for.

Posts that are a picture with no discussion can and will be removed by the mods.

    Thank you!!

  2. Wattage also affects the maximum capacity of water you can keep at temperature.

I have a Wankle, no idea on the wattage but it works great. Just used it on Thanksgiving to heat up an entire cooler full of hams and turkeys. Only went to 140° because I was reheating, not cooking. But the main reason I’m chiming in is because I got mine for around $30 on AliExpress.

  4. In my experience (10+ years), those spring clip machines are annoying af. I use a variety of coolers for my SV containers and using a screw- on type mount is much more convenient.

  5. SensioHome 1500w on Ebay uk are £40 brand new, had mine 5 years now, beast.

I recommend a wifi model so your phone will get an alert if the circulator turns off and/or the water temperature drops.
