UK supermarket chain Waitrose & Partners is bringing the authentic flavours of Italy to homes this Christmas with the launch of ‘Angela Hartnett with Waitrose’.

The new capsule collection was developed in partnership with Michelin-star chef Angela Hartnett and marks Hartnett’s first foray into supermarket product ranges. There are plans for more products in 2026 following the initial Christmas collection.

Angela Hartnett, whose cooking is deeply rooted in her Italian family heritage from Bardi, Emilia-Romagna, has approved each of the five products in the range. Her passion is for simple, quality ingredients and sophisticated Italian dishes.

Sam Angell, head of product at Waitrose, stated, “This range embodies our shared passion for authentic, high-quality Italian food, crafted with integrity and the finest ingredients.”

He highlighted that the collection offers both the excitement of Angela’s recipes and the convenience customers expect from Waitrose.

The demand for authentic Italian cuisine continues to grow, with Waitrose.com seeing significant year-on-year increases in searches for ‘Italian wine’ (140%), ‘Italian biscuits’ (69%), and ‘Italian food’ (28%).

Christmas Capsule Collection

The “Angela Hartnett with Waitrose” Christmas capsule collection includes:

Traditional Panettone 750g (£25.00): Made with Calabrian citrus and Italian wildflower honey, this panettone follows a recipe from Maria and Giuliano Filippi, whose sons continue their natural leavening tradition using a half-century-old mother dough. The hand-sorted Calabrian oranges are candied for up to six days, and the raisins are soaked in white wine from Breganze.

Amaretti Morbidi Alla Mandorla 250g (£7.50): These soft amaretti biscuits, rich with almond aroma, are hand-formed near Siena by La Fabbrica del Panforte, known for their delicate crust and light, soft centre.

Brutti Ma Buoni 200g (£6.50): Also created by La Fabbrica del Panforte near Siena, these “ugly but good” biscuits feature gently roasted Italian hazelnuts and a light meringue, offering a delicate crust and a crunchy centre.

Almond Cantuccioni Biscuits 240g (£6.50): Crafted by Masini, a family-owned Tuscan biscuit producer since 1929, these crisp, almond-rich biscuits are slow-baked and perfect for dipping.

All Butter Parmigiano Reggiano Biscuits 80g (£3.50): Made in small batches by a second-generation artisan bakery, these rich, crumbly biscuits contain 25% Parmigiano Reggiano, aged for at least 12 months, ideal as an apéritif.

In addition to the capsule collection, Dishpatch, which has been delivering Angela Hartnett’s dishes since 2020, will now offer them through Waitrose Entertaining on Waitrose.com for Christmas.

This includes dishes such as Stuffed Duck with Marsala Gravy, Panettone Pudding with Pistachio Custard, and Eight Osso Buco Arancini.
