Seller has a three year-old machine. He said it is in perfectly good condition. He can’t take it with him to Germany so he’s trying to get rid of it. Is this a good deal for $1100 or is it too good to be true?

Meet in person and ask for a test, if he won’t then don’t.

One can’t help but wonder, why (apart from the apple coloring, lol) only $1100?

Someone do a reverse image search. I bet it’s a scam.

He did give me his address and told me to check it out for himself

No one is selling their pretty rare/limited edition machine for scrap pricing. If the person is local meet up with them see if I’m wrong, but I’d bet good money that this is a scam.

Lol, it looks like a model to me. There’s no sense of scale in the image but it feels like it should be about 6″ tall. Super cute.
I don’t believe for a second that it’s a real machine that’s really for sale.

Some deals are insane and actually legit. You should just be ready to deal with the ramifications if it’s not legit. Meaning be able and ready to fight off getting jumped, or to have a gun pulled on you. I picked up my Odyssey Argos for $700 because a guy didn’t want to take it to Australia. It was legit but I was edge the whole time.
FYI: that looks like a toy and not a real machine. I’d pass and I’m a risk taker.

Counterpoint – I frequently use buy nothing to get rid of things of value because I don’t want to deal with the hassle of selling things. I doubt I would giveaway a La Marzocco…but I would sell it for undervalue on Marketplace, just to make it a quick transaction.

is that shot on a tilt-shift lens? looks tiny

I’d say too good to be true. For the value he’s losing on that machine it would definitely be worth his while to pay to take it on the flight or to ship it even. If it was real he would know that even 2500 on that machine is a steal and could sell it easily… so ask yourself, why? Why is he giving away money? He probably isn’t.
You understand this is a toy model right? …….right? Please answer me that you know it’s not the real machine

GS3 Knobs and red logo are aftermarket. Red logo should be metal but it looks plastic. Green powder coating is custom. Even screws look strange. Check to see if it weighs around 50 lbs. open left panel to see authentic LM logos. Check serial number. Does it make a good coffee? $1,100 is a steal. Retail is $6k plus! If you don’t go to the house you can’t test it. The machine pulls 1,600 watts. Ask to see a receipt of the original.

Ask for a video of it functioning, you can even say “Just engage the group head three times for me. I want to see the flow”
That’ll prove as to whether or not they even have it. However, the whole things sounds like a scam because $1100 is enough to dupe people, especially when this machine would sell for $3 grand easily any other day of the week.

You better have him hold it up next to a banana for scale. Looks like a miniature toy.

Service history ? Get a video with sound of it pulling a brew with and without a portafilter and it not brewing, and ditto hot water and steamer. If it plumbed in currently, do they have the reservoir still?

Looks a lot like this one (color, same knobs, though not seemingly the size of a rubiks cube):
How long ago was it listed? That usually tells you everything you need to know, very low price but listed days or weeks ago = scam.

I would take such machine as hand luggage anywhere in the world.

Everyone screaming its a scam ….. Those machines are about 5 grand brand new. This one is 3 years old and he’s asking 1100 for it. Sounds like a reasonable depreciation to me.
$1100 for a coffee machine is still alot of money for the average household

I just pulled up some images of the special editions for La Marzocco Linea Mini’s from 2022, they did look exactly like this. I’d be sus of the price too.
Take precautions, park two blocks away and walk. leave any cash in the glove box, lock the glove box. I wouldnt let the key off me, but perhaps bring a taser if thats legal where you live.
Also once you have his address, do a bit of research, is it a nice house? whats its value, pull it up on zillow, find this info out. Around here, a 2 million dollar home is the bottom of the nice market. 1 million means sketch. 5+ means that dude has a lot of money. I dont know what the scale is for where youre living, but figure that out and that will tell you how dangerous he might be. The super wealthy arent going to rob you. I wish you luck, if its real, that is one hell of a deal for a machine that will last a lonnnnnnng time. Cheaper than a Breville/Sage dual boiler LOL

Looks like it’s photographed in a store / demo setting? Raises warning flags to me at least.

That’s an [Etsy toy](https://www.etsy.com/listing/4339216794/16-dollhouse-miniature-coffee-machine)!
