The 50 Top Pizza reception concludes the
Week of the Italian Cuisine in the World 2025 in the UK
The 50 Top Pizza reception held at the Embassy of Italy in London, as part of the 50 Top World Artisan Pizza Chains 2025 awards ceremony, concluded the Week of Italian Cuisine in the World 2025 in the United Kingdom. It was a week full of events celebrating Italian cooking, which is being considered for addition to the UNESCO Cultural Heritage list.
The event, which brought together numerous guests from all over the world to celebrate the award winners, featured master pizza chefs Michele Pascarella, Davide Civitiello, Alberto Buonocore and Simone Fortunato, as well as the brands Berberè and Pizza Pilgrims, and was coordinated by chefs Danilo Cortellini and Jiri Dvorak.
His Excellency Inigo Lambertini, Ambassador of Italy to the United Kingdom, stated: “What is pizza if not the perfect combination of health, culture, and innovation? Selected ingredients that are good for the body, mind, and heart; a comfort food that Italian emigration, and imitation, have spread throughout the world over the centuries; continuous innovation in techniques and the selection of toppings ensures a product to satisfy any palate. It was therefore natural for pizza to play a central role in the events organized by this Embassy for the Week of the Italian Cuisine in the World. It is also no coincidence that we have renewed our partnership with 50 Top Pizza, whose role in promoting the most international of Italian foods is unparalleled”.
“It is a great honor and pleasure for us to be here,” said Barbara Guerra, Luciano Pignataro, and Albert Sapere, curators of 50 Top Pizza. “We would like to extend a special thank you to Ambassador Inigo Lambertini, who, for the second year running, has hosted us and made us and our guests feel at home. We would also like to thank the entire network of Italian embassies, consulates and cultural institutes, who support us and are key to promoting the Made in Italy brand. Every year, we travel to various countries, on every continent, and we witness the importance of the work of Italian institutions abroad in promoting Italian cuisine”.
