So I've been shopping my local Costco and they currently have the Nespresso virtue next bundle at a discount for $139. Which includes the milk frother. For basically the same price actually 10 bucks more there's the new Keurig K-Crema. Which claims it uses five times the pressure than the regular keurigs which in theory should produce a better tasting coffee more similar to the Nespresso that uses the spinning motor of the pod to get more pressure. I want this machine as a piece of mind machine before work quick and easy I like the idea of the milk frother that comes with the Nespresso but I also like the idea of the cheaper and more available pods with Keurig. That being said I already have a Lilit Bianca v3 full setup machine. But that takes about 30 minutes to warm up to do a proper latte.

I recently grabbed the same Costco bundle and it’s been fantastic so far. We’ve been drippers for our entire lives and while we make great drip coffee at home we wanted something more and that Vertuo Next is awesome.
Pods are kinda pricey… 1.20-1.60 each and they come in packs of 10. Still worth it as a coffee drinker.
My Nespresso vertuo next machine stopped consistently working after 4 years. It was purchased in 2021. They may have worked out the kinks, but I’ve seen a lot of posts of people complaining about the vertuo next. So I’d maybe consider a different model.
The cost of Nespresso pods also added up after awhile. Between my husband and I, we could easily drink 4 pods a day which would be a lil over $5/day. So I’d probably go with whoever has the cheaper pods.
That said, the Nespresso milk frother really made the drinks feel bougie. So if you go the keurig route, I’d still get a milk frother if lattes are your thing.
If you look at the K crema reviews they are disappointing. I would stick with nespresso.
I have a Nespresso vertuo but have also tried the Keurig. I recommend keurig for the better coffee pod options. Most nespresso pods are bitter especially if you are used to drinking European style coffee like lavazza or illy.
Get the Nespresso, if it fails, it’s Costco… they will take it back!
I don’t know about the claim of better coffee because of the pressure. If I put filter coffee in an espresso portafilter, it likely won’t taste good.
If you want positive feedback on a K-cup machine, this is probably not the place 😂
I love my Nespresso machines- both Vertuo and original have brought me a lot of happiness. If coffee is an important part of your routine, treat yourself to Nespresso!
This is my dilemma as well.
The POP has been on sale for under $100, which could help me burn through the existing stash of pods I have. But also, I had a Next and saw the innards of that thing and I’m less than confident in another.
But also… Costco returns.
I’d be curious how the Keurig holds up with use, but also wonder how the “crema” function works with their standard pods. But I also have a decent Keurig that’s only issue has been it not recognizing distilled water in it and resetting after a descale and the heating element, but that was a quick click on the heater and pushing the spout under the reservoir 🤣
Keurig coffee is 🗑️ compared to nespresso imo. I’d just get the Nespresso
I feel like I can taste the burnt heated plastic from a Kcup and that’s actually why I switched to Nespresso bc the pods are metal and so it’s less exposure to ingestible microplastics
Keurig is so subpar compared to nespresso.
I love my nespresso for cold coffees in summer but love my regular coffee pot for hot coffees for winter
Don’t get a Nespresso 🙂 biggest waste of money breaks after the 1 year mark (has happened to me twice, right after the warranty window). I only make a cup once a day no one else uses my machine, and I descale it 1 a month.
We had a Keurig for several years. The base Keurig has no pressure at all – nada – none – hot water drips through the capsules. It works the same way as a drip coffee maker. We also have one of those. 5 times the pressure of a normal Keurig is still 0. Simple equation – 5 x 0=0. Purchased an OL Nespresso in 2018 and have used it since for espresso style coffee. The Vertuo does not use the same process as the OL. It spins the pod at high speed – no pressure. It’s better than Keurig, but not real espresso. In any event, never, ever buy a new product within its first year of production. Wait until there have been numerous user reviews and articles about the product.
I don’t like Keurig
Keurig is trash compared to nespresso! The nespresso pods are pricey but The extra $ is worth it imo!!
I’ve made coffee with both Keurig and Nespresso. Based on my personal experience, if Keurig makes a machine with more pressure so that it brews a little more like the Nespresso, I’d go Keurig. Some may ask, well, if you want it to be like Nespresso, why not just get Nespresso? I’ll tell ya: 1. Warranty 2. Customer Service 3. Most importantly, the variety of coffee options. 4. Brewing temperature (I like it hot so that I can take my time drinking my coffee.) I’ve been underwhelmed with my Nespresso, to say the least.
