What is your favorite loaf pan!? Do you prefer a lid on the loaf pans, why/not ?
Picture of my hardest working bagel roller so the question doesn’t get lost!
Thank y’all!

Cute cat and I love this ceramic loaf pan bought by my dad.

I have a bunch of old Williams Sonoma uncoated loaf pans. I believe they were made by USA Pans. I also have some nonstick Pullman loaf pans. But I normally use the uncoated ones.

I’ve heard from a lot of people that they love their USA pans, my only complaint is that as far as I’m aware they need to be hand washed and can’t go in the dishwasher. I have ceramic pans and while they’re freaking adorable, they take way longer for my loaves to bake. Like taking 50% longer than the reclpe calls for. So I’m planning on switching to USA pans in the future for home baking and leaving my pretty ceramic ones for when I bring something like banana bread to an event.

Edit: I’m not a fan of lidded pans, I love a good dome

  5. I’m a fan of stainless steel bakeware personally even though it’s not common but I don’t have a loaf pan yet. The USA pans are really popular though and are aluminum. I’m not a fan of coated pans in general so I’d get uncoated and use parchment. Or you could get stainless and no parchment. My other bakeware I just butter well. So I assume a loaf pan would be similar.

I love my USA pans. I use the KA pan spray and the only time I’ve ever had an issue was when I f’d up a babka and accidentally made bread sitting in caramel. Other than that, bread comes right out when I flip it over, it cooks nice and evenly if I keep it out of my oven’s hot spot, and it’s super easy to hand wash some nothing sticks to it.

I am slowly changing all of my baking pans over.

Another reason why I don’t trust eating food from other peoples homes. No thanks.

I work with what I have – stuff that I bought at the second hand store. I’m semi-retired so I’m on the thrifty side of things at the moment. Need to get a job. Grrr…

I like the USA pans if you don’t necessarily need a lid. However, my new favorite especially for sourdough where you really want a nice crust. The method is to use to Amazon basics 9 x 5 Loaf pan and then use a second one of the same pan as a lid. This basically makes it a mini Dutch oven and it’s absolutely perfect for getting perfect oven spring and crust without needing a heavy cast-iron pan. Very easy to fit in the oven and then remove the second pan/lid after the initial cook.

My favorite loaf pans are some long narrow ones from IKEA, perfect for cute little sandwiches! I prefer pans without lids, since I tend to overfill the lidded ones and get weird results hahaha! Also, your kitty is super cute and I’m sorry people are so rude! I love your little sous chef <3
