This is the first time in my 10 years vegan (plus 2 vegetarian) that I’ve cooked with soy curls. Insert “I’ve made a huge mistake” gif.

Followed Vegan Richa’s recipe and it was ridiculously good. I can’t wait to try different recipes.

I, too, slept on soy curls for way, way, way too long. Love it!

Have you tried yuba? Also amazing! Requires a longer soak, though (for dried at least).

Anyone know an affordable place to get soy curls online?

I always balk at the price when I see them so I stick to beans esp. chickpeas, lentils n tofu 🙁

Wish more stores carried them. Literally the one item I have to go out of my way for, but worth it!

Oooh… now you need to make pulled ‘pork’ Soy Curls!

    Nomnomnom

You put your heart and soul into this. You can’t convince me otherwise 😮‍💨👏

  7. I fkn love soy curls, they are so versatile and delicious.

How would you describe texture/flavor as compared to a tofu/seitan product? I’ve not tried these before but would love to now!

  9. I buy soy curls directly from Butlers website. 12 lb box for 72 US dollars. Last do six months. Comes in bulk box and I separate and freeze in small portions. I’ve fried them and cover with a sauce I make with Korean chili paste, honey, coconut amino, rice vinegar, and chopped garlic. Also, add to pot pies, chowders, dumplings, and season with taco seasoning. So may options with soy curls.

  10. looks like you baked the curls, you dont need to. I use them all the time in similar ways, i just cook them in the wok first, then once cooked (3-4 minutes?) I dump them in a bowl while cooking the veggies. Then combine at the end.

Soy curls are my favorite thing in the world I’ve been veg for 15+ years but only just found these two years ago, I mourn for the time lost

I also waited way too long to try soy curls. I’ve been vegan for 12 years and just started eating them a few months ago. I’ve been kicking myself for missing out for so long. They’re my favorite now!!

This looks fantastic and I’m starving right now at 11pm. lol.

I love soy curls and will have to try this.

Soy curls give me the worst gas. I do enjoy them though

  16. SO GOOD! my local bakery sells them in small packages, but i think the bulk option is the way to go, especially since the dry curls don’t go bad. i like to marinate them as long as i can before cooking them, and i find that pan-frying at a low heat for as long as you might be patient yields great results. they’re such a versatile protein source!
