Looks good! Are you willing to share the stl?

  2. Am I mistaking or is the knock bar a little bit off to the top right.

  3. So cute! Sorry dumb question but do you guys use the grounds for anything?

I take a small spoon – any one, doesn’t matter – and in two quick motions I scrape the leftovers into the trash.
    Cost of the solution: +$0.
    Enjoy.

I bought an very good one on AliExpress for like 3$..

A black store bought knock box would suit better. Was it just cause you had a 3-D printer and you wanted to think of stuff to make? In which case sure for the creative project.

  7. i got a countertop green waste bin for like $15 that also works as a great knockbox. whose paying $40?

  8. TheHungryCreatures

    It’s beautiful! Very Memphis Milano!!

  9. am i doing it wrong by dumping it straight in garbage bin?

genuinely curious, how much did the filament used end up costing?

I get this is the ‘proper’ way to do it. I find it easier to stick a spoon in the puck and scoop it out into my compost container and then give it a quick rinse under the tap

Hate to be the bearer of bad news but sooner or later organic matter will accumulate in the surfaces that are not covered the the little plastic bad (nock bar and surroundings) and you won’t be able to really wash it away because of the porosity.

The nock box is meant to be well cleaned regularly so that your work area doesn’t get you sick (kind is the idea behind avoiding using the trash can and the value of the knock box).

This is a good project and nice use of a hobby but not a long term solution.

  13. I just take a spoon, scoop it out and dispose of it.

i just wave mine over my garbage disposal. One quick flick and its out.

  15. Restaurant supply stores have them for 10-15 in a standard size.

i like the idea, but why is there a garbage bag in it! grounds can be reused as a fertilizer/rodent deterrent

I love this! And love the colors. How much do you think it cost in materials?

  18. Is a 3-D printer and its supplies less than $40?

Wannabe Newbie home barista here. I can’t seem to knock the sense out of my puck into my garbage can. Most of the time, the filter falls into the trash. Scooping with a spoon works though.

I bought a grindenstein 17 years ago and it’s still going strong ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

You know what be great to add like a sliding door from the bottom or the top underneath the bar that way we can keep it close

  22. FINALLY, some fuckin’ fun.

fuck the naysayers, with their drab stainless steel, black and wood accents. do you.

I have a small ‘hotel pan’ the lid has an indent that is raised underneath. I wack the puck against that and it makes almost the exact same noise as a pinball machine/ replay/ knock. So satisfying

That’s cute, but after a year of banging your coffee grounds out on it I’d suggest it’s going to fall to bits. Maybe replace the pink bar with a chunk of wood.

  25. Nice work!

How many shots are you making in a day that you need a knock box?

  26. collieherb

I just fuck it into a tin can that previously held chocolate wafers 🤷‍♀️

Just a reminder to newbies that your pucks in theory should pop out easy. I tap mine lightly against my other hand into a trash can ezpz. I think this comes down more to the minimalist vs maximalist approach to spro.

  28. Nice! Just curious, did you have this particular shape and color in mind which is why it cost $40? mine was like 10 bucks. Black, simple and still strong after 6 years of daily bangs.

  29. IndustrialWiggler

so cute, nice choice on the colors! reminds me of cat and cloud packaging

For anyone over paying for coffee accessories. Order from AliExpress or dhgate. Amazon resellers just drop ship large orders from them and resell out of local US warehouses. If you can wait an additional week for delivery, you’ll save 50-75% on most accessories
