Yes, Salteñas are originally from Bolivia🇧🇴. But due to migration from Potosi to Arequipa, they have become an important part of our local cuisine for generations since the arrival of many Bolivians in the late 19th century. Over time, we incorporated local flavors like Chalona and Chicha de guiñapo and developed Salteñas with a distinctive Arequipa flavor. The Southern part of Peru shares many cultural and culinary traditions with Bolivia as these borders reflect political interests, Andean culture rises above such constructs.
