I ordered pizza and garlic parm wings from a local “NY Pizza” chain here in Texas. The wings arrived swimming in oil. At least an inch. I. Shocked because they have 4.5 stars. I called to let them know and even sent a photo to the young lady on the phone who was not helping me and said this is just how their wings come! She passed the phone to her manager who confirmed the same.

I have never received wings like this from any other place and they were basically inedible in my opinion. I did a finger test and the oil tasted burnt and had no flavor either. The pizza was great, but the wings were not.

Before I leave a bad review I want to check my ignorance, Is this a New York style thing or is am I correct this is just gross?

Yeah… That’s certainly not normal or proper.

Are there other pictures of their wings available for comparison?

  2. I’ve sent back exactly two dinners in my almost 40 years on this planet. Both times it was a steak I ordered rare that came well done. This would have been the third time.

No, wings should never come to you in oil. By the time they hit your plate they should be chicken and sauce and that’s it. Not even a drop of excess oil should be on them.

I got garlic parm wings from Wingstop recently and they were disgustingly similar.

Naked wings sitting in a puddle of garlicky oil. So gross.

The oil is weird. The wings look like they had a chance to be great without that.

Maybe they are attempting to leave just a little bit to blend with the garlic or that could just be hydrogenated oil aka margarine instead of butter because they are cheap.

I haven’t had oil before, but I have had excess garlic butter.

    This is just excessive….

Can I ask the name of the pizza place? You can DM me if you don’t wanna respond here.

I’ve had bad experiences receiving wings with too much oil when ordering garlic parm from pizza places, but this is just another level and not normal

  8. There are exceptions I’m sure but my default rule is to not order wings from a pizza place

Looks like chicken wing soup, did you get some crackers too?

I ordered wings from a local pizza place that looked like that. The owner said that was “Italian style.” Because I am cheap, I drained them, resauced, and recooked them. Then they sucked less.

They look like shit never heard of that place and a lot of the people responding or up or down voting probably think you’re asking about NY wings lol Are wings like this common? No.

Did they toss some of the oil from the fryer in there with it? wtf? Gross.

I’d complain and get a new order or money back honestly.

  13. Dude post a pic of wings in a pie pan full of urine.

    “Hey chat, is this normal?”

You know it is not. It is not normal nor is it acceptable. No human deserves this.

Post pic and leave google review. Then I’m sure they will magically realize how awful this is

That’s like a half cup of oil. Did it leak all over the bag? No way it remained contained in the to go tupperware.

  16. Traditional_Bake_787

Pour it off into a bottle. They just gave you like $7 worth of oil.

These look like they’d leave your stomach and asshole oily🤣🤣

This looks insane. At the very least it could have been garlic and seasoned

  19. Ashamed-Reporter3171

That’s way too much grease, whatever that is. Chicken looks overcooked too and too crunchy

  20. nonconsenual_tickler

How did they taste outside of the oil?

  21. Jonaskin83

That looks like something out of Kitchen Nightmares

  22. I moved to Long Island twenty years ago and there were several places where I received wings that were in an Italian style garlic Parmesan sauce. Yours looks quite unappetizing but about what I’d expect from a takeaway pizza restaurant in Texas.

These are completely normal from my neck of the woods
