Meatball Subs ✨

Italian meatballs

1 lb Italian sausage
1 lb hamburger
1/2 cup graded Parmesan cheese
2 eggs
1/2 cup milk
1 small onion minced
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 cup bread crumbs
1 tsp salt
1/4 cup dried basil
1/2 tsp oregano

Set your oven to 350.
Combine all ingredients in a large bowl with hands.
Form into golf size balls and place on a cookie sheet. Bake for 30 min.

Homemade buns2 tablespoons active dry yeast1 cup plus 2 tablespoons warm water about 110 degrees1/3 cup melted butter or oil1/4 cup sugar or honey 1 large egg beaten1 teaspoon salt4 cups all-purpose flour

1 egg yolk 1 TBSP water

Add warm water, yeast, butter or oil and sugar to a bowl of a stand mixer.

Let it bloom for 5 minutes.

Add your flour and salt.

Mix on low/ medium speed for about 5 min until nice and smooth.

Don’t let the rise!

Section your dough into 8 to 10 equal portions and shape into logs.

Place on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Cover with a towel and let rest for 10 min while your oven heats up to 425.
Whisk up your egg yoke and water and brush the tops of your buns.
Remove towel and bake for 8-12 min

Sauce:

1 large can of crushed tomatoes
1 tbs dried onion
1 tbs dried parsley
2 tsp mined garlic
1 tsp salt
1 tsp Italian seasoning
